Weight Distribution Hitch Recommendation for 2001 Ford Excursion
Question:
Hi, I tow a 15 yard dump trailer, that weighs 4600lbs when empty, but up to 15000lbs when at full capacity. Everyday the load weight is different. The heaviest loads are not as ,but often enough that Im not sure which weight distributing hitch range to choose. Right now Im just using a solid 2inch bar with a 2 5/16inch ball. Im currently driving a 2001 Ford Excursion V10 gas 4x4. Looking to upgrade to a newer dually soon, but for now I need something to settle out the load on the excursion. Thanks

If your trailer is really weighing up to 15k you should check the owners manual of your Excursion to be sure you aren't exceeding the towing capacity. We really can't recommend ever exceeding the capacity even with a weight distribution system. Everything I am seeing says 11k is the capacity of your vehicle.
In situations like yours the only real option is to go with a system rated for when the trailer is loaded at it's heaviest since that's when you'd need it the most.
Based on that the Equalizer part # EQ37120ET you referenced would be best option.
