Recommended Bike Racks Compatible With 2014 Toyota Prius Sedan
Question:
I have a 2014 Prius Hatchback Sedan and am looking for a hitch bike rack. How much does the Swagman XTC2 weigh, I dont see that in the specs. Also is there a rack that support 3 or 4 bikes that will work with the prius. Also is there a difference between the two hitches you show work with my car from Curt and Draw-Tite? Is one better than the other in any way? THANKS.

For your 2014 Prius, the Curt Hitch # C11276 requires a stability strap # 18050 when using a bike rack and the Draw-Tite # 24847 does not. Other than that the hitches are very similar is style as well as installation. The Class I hitches, are only able to carry bike racks rated for that hitch receiver classification. All hitch mounted racks that fit a Class I hitch are limited to 2 bikes even if it is a 4 bike rack.
The Swagman XTC-2 2-Bike Platform Rack for 1-1/4" and 2" Trailer Hitches # S64670 is a compatible carrier and weighs about 30 lbs. I recommend the Anti-Rattle Hitch Lock and Cable for Swagman Bike Racks w/ 1-1/4" & Combo Shanks - 7' # S64031 to secure your bikes to this rack and your rack to your hitch receiver.
For a 3 bike rack, you will need to get a trunk mounted rack. I recommend the Yakima FullBack 3 Bike Rack - Trunk Mount - Adjustable Arms # Y02633 for your vehicle. This comes with all of the safety features you need to secure your bikes to your bike rack and the rack to your locked hatch. It has anti-sway cradles with really nice ZipStrip Straps to secure your bike frames at 3 points.
There are no 4 bike rack options compatible with your vehicle.
