Recommendation on a 5th Wheel Hitch to Fit a 2017 Ford F-350 With 8 Ft Bed and Towing Prep Package
Question:
I have a 2017 ford f350 dual cab Super Duty lariat with an 8ft. box. It has a sprayed in bedliner and came hitch ready. What fifth wheel hitch and other set up do I need? I will be hauling a 4 horse trailer with living space.

We have a 5th wheel hitch that will work great in your 2017 Ford F-350 w/ 8 foot bed and towing prep package.
I recommend the B&W Companion OEM 5th Wheel Hitch for Ford Super Duty Prep Package, # BWRVK3300. The B&W hitch has a 20,000 lbs gross towing capacity and a vertical load limit of 5,000 lbs. The Companion is designed to fit right into your truck's towing prep package. There is no installation of mounting brackets or base rails to mount this hitch into the bed.
For a more economical option, the Curt A20 5th Wheel Trailer Hitch with Ford OEM Legs, # C16034, will work well in your Ford. Like the B&W hitch, the Curt hitch has a 20,000 lbs gross towing weight and a 5,000 lbs vertical load limit. The Curt hitch has a 4 inch height adjustment and also like the B&W hitch uses a dual interlocking jaw that will provide a secure connection between the hitch and the king pin.
I also recommend the Bargman 5th Wheel/Gooseneck 90-Degree Wiring Harness, # 54701-007-010. This 7-way trailer connection can be install in the bed of you truck for an additional trailer connection. By installing the wiring harness in your bed you will make the trailer connection closer to your trailer.
