Recommendations For 2015 Ford F-350 Diesel Dually With Slide-In Camper And Trailer

Recently purchased a truck camper and interested in the towing capacity and product recommendations you may have. 2015 Ford F-350 Crew cab Diesel Dually long bed 3.73 Rear 2-1/2inch Hitch receiver Camper: Arctic Fox 990 3100# empty up to 5000# loaded Has Titan? 30inch hitch extension Trailer: 20foot Wells Cargo Enclosed Car Hauler Dual axle V-nose so can use typical weight distribution system 3300# curb weight Typical load: 2200# 6000# Do you believe the truck could safely handle the load? What would you recommend to enhance or make safeinch this application?

Your 2015 Ford F-350 dually has a towing capacity of 19,000 lbs, and a payload capacity for your slide-in camper of up to 6255 lbs with the 6.2L or 5,513 lbs with the 6.7L. I believe your truck will have no problem with the camper but you may want to consider using a suspension enhancement like the Firestone Ride-Rite Red Label Extreme Duty Air Helper Springs - Rear Axle # F2703. This will not increase the capacity of your truck, but will help to keep it level and absorb road shock.

When using your hitch extender, you will want to make sure you stay within the limits of the system. For instance, the Hitch Box Extension and Reducer for Titan 2-1/2" Trailer Hitches, 24" - 34" Long # RP45292 has a towing capacity of 6,000 lbs and up to 8,000 lbs when using a weight distribution system when used at 24 inch length. At 34 inch length that capacity is 4,500 lbs or up to 6,000 when using weight distribution. So your typical load will need to be within the range of your extension.

If you are not using weight distribution, I definitely recommend you start using a WD system. For your application, I recommend the Reese Steadi-Flex Weight Distribution System w/ Sway Control # RP66560 which is rated for 600 to 1200 lbs total tongue weight.

All this to say, as long as you stay within the capacity limits, which will be only slightly limiting what you typically were doing, your truck can handle the load with a little help from suspension enhancement and weight distribution.
