How to Select Replacement Hub/Drums and Brakes

Question:

Looking for Trailer hub and drum assembly but cannot find what I need. The 8-201-9UC3-EZ is close but I need it for a 2.250inch seal. I would also like to purchase brake assemblies as well. The bolt hole pattern is 6 x 5.5 If you could point me in the right direction I would appreciate it. Thanks.

When you need to select replacement hubs/drums you want to match up a few things; the axle weight rating, the hub/drum size, the bearings used in the hub and the wheel bolt pattern.

A new hub has to use the same inner and outer bearings in order for it to fit properly on your spindles, and of course it also has to be rated to match the axle capacity - for an example, a 2000-lb axle will need two hubs each rated for 1000-lbs.

On the page I linked for you are displayed the 6-on-5-1/2 hub/drums we offer. Select your axle weight rating to see the available items. For instance, part # 8-201-5 is a 12 x 2-inch hub/drum for 5200-lbs axles that fits spindles that use a 2.250-inch seal. The bearings, # 25580 and # LM67048, need to be ordered separately, as do the seal # RG06-090 and grease cap # RG04-080.

Electric drum brakes in this 12 x 2-inch size are shown on the other linked page. Again you need to match the axle weight rating, and also the brake flange mounting pattern. You can also choose standard or self-adjusting brakes. Be sure to select both left- and right-hand brakes.
