First, you will need to use the 4-Way trailer side connector with the 25 foot loop of wire, included in the Optronics Trailer Tail Light Kit, item # TL29BK. Of the five wires present, the white is the ground, the yellow is the left turn/brake signal, the green is the right turn/brake signal, the yellow with brown stripe is the left running light signal, and the green wire with brown stripe is the right running light signal.
You will need to run the yellow wire to the left side light, the one with the clear lens underneath, remove about 3/8 inch of the wire coating and, the stripped wire into the proper connection point. Run the green wire to the right side turn/brake light connection point. The striped brown wires will need to be ran to the left and right side running light connection point on both lights, there are two brown striped wires on the trailer side connector that both connect to the same terminal in the 4-Way connector. Ground the white wire to any clean metal surface on your trailer frame near the tongue. The lights themselves are grounded through the mounting bolts, to the trailer frame.
The side marker lights will then be spliced into the brown striped wire on each side of the trailer, with the provided quick splices, and are also grounded through the mounting bolts, to the trailer frame.
