Recommended 5th Wheel Hitch And Sidewinder Pin Box For 2014 GMC Sierra Denali 5-1/2 Foot Bed

Question:

I have a 2014 GMC Denali pick up with a 5ft 10inch box we would like to by a 5th wheel trailer, but dont know if there is a hitch to tow with and how heavy a 5th wheel we can tow, our truck is a half ton with 6.2 v8 gas.

You are able to tow a 5th wheel with your 2014 GMC Sierra Denali with 5.5 foot bed, however the use of a Sidewinder pin box or Revolution pin box are required. This will move the rotating point back 22 inches, by using a wedge at the hitch and a rotating turret at the rear by the 5th wheel pin box bolts. I've attached the link to our page of your options so you can ensure your trailer pin box will be compatible. I've attached a couple articles to assist as well. Your truck is rated to tow 9,400 lbs. with a max of 12,500 lbs if you have the max trailering package.

The 5th wheel rails and hitch I recommend for this are the Reese 22K 5th Wheel Trailer Hitch w/ Wiring Harness # RP30033 which has the dual jaw design as well as the Reese Quick-Install Custom Base Rails and Installation Kit for 5th Wheel Trailer Hitches # RP50064-58. This custom rail kit uses brackets made for your truck so there is no drilling into the frame. You will only need to drill into the bed to finish securing the rails.

This hitch has a custom wedge for the best fit of your Sidewinder or Revolution pin box. It is the Sidewinder Wedge for Reese Titan 5th Wheel Trailer Hitches # RP30865. This will work better than the universal wedge these pin boxes come with as it is designed specifically for this hitch.
