Recommendation on a Ball Mount that will Provide a 7-1/2 Drop

Question:

Good Morning, Im picking up a car transport trailer tomorrow but havent purchased the ball bar yet and am a bit uncertain as to whether to go with a 6inch or 8inch . The towing vehicle is a 14 Ram 2500. The standard receiver is 2 1/2foot but I have a reducer to 2. Height to the top of the receiver is 24 1/2. Assuming that the coupler height will be level at 17, can you make a recommendation? A 6inch will leave me at approximately 18 1/2inch a bit high and an 8inch will leave me at approximately 16 1/2inch a bit low. Any thoughts would be appreciated. Thanks. AW

With the information that you provided, it looks like you will be needed a ball mount with about a 7-1/2 inch drop. To achieve this your best option will be to go with an adjustable ball mount.

The B&W Tow & Stow 2-Ball Mount - 2 Inch Hitch - 7 Inch Drop, 7-1/2 Inch Rise - 10K - Black, # BWTS10040B, will give you an adjustable mount that uses a flip-over ball. The ball is 2 inches on one side and 2-5/16 on the other which will give you the option to tow various trailers.

The drop on this ball mount measures 7 inches. Of all the mount that can handle the weight of your trailer, this mount is the closets to the 7-1/2 drop you may need.

I have included a couple of videos on the B&W Tow and Stow Ball Mount for you to review.
