Troubleshooting Hopkins Smart Hitch Backup Camera # HM5002 That Doesn't Come on In Reverse
Question:
monitor does not come on when placed in reverse. wired directly to tail light back up light. checked with test light ,getting power and good ground. checked connectors to monitor,looks clean , applied electrical grease. still nothing. any ideas?

Sounds like you really checked everything and it's still not working. If you can verify that the monitor has power and ground and the camera is getting the reverse light circuit and the monitor is STILL not coming on then the problem could then be the transmitter wire that runs from the camera to the monitor. You might check to make sure it's making a solid connection.
If that's not it the monitor is most likely damaged.
