Troubleshooting Brake Controller That Shows Connection All of the Time
Question:
Approximately 2 years ago I had a Tekonsha Voyager Brake Con- troller installed at our local U-Haul dealer. I used it once about 3 weeks ago. Now the green light stays lit, even when I turn my trucks ignition off. Can you help me solve this problem, or must I go back to the U-Haul dealer? Thank you.

The green light indicates that the controller is sensing a trailer connection. When this happens without a trailer connected the issue is almost always related to corrosion on the connector of the vehicle. What's happening is that the corrosion is putting a slight load on the circuit which is confusing the controller into thinking there is a trailer connected.
If you clean the pins of the 7-way with sandpaper and inspect all of the wiring leading to the connector that will take care of the problem.
