I have the perfect trailer wiring harness for your 2016 Mini Clubman. I recommend using the ZCI Circuit Protected Vehicle Wiring Harness w/ 4-Pole Flat Trailer Connector and Installation Kit part # 119250KIT as this is a complete plug and play kit that comes with everything needed for installation, including a test light. You will also want a mounting bracket like the part # 18144 to secure the trailer connector to the hitch receiver.
As this kit only includes a 4-flat trailer connector, if you have a trailer with brakes, you will need to also install a 7-way trailer connector like the Universal Installation Kit for Trailer Brake Controller part # ETBC7. To secure the 7-way to the trailer receiver, I recommend using part # 18159.
Before mating any of these connection, you will want to use a bit of dielectric grease like part # 11755 to prevent corrosion.
