Class I Hitch and Class I Hitch Bike Rack for 2016 Honda Civic Coupe

Question:

Hi, Ive got a 2016 Civic Coupe LX-P. Im looking at the installation guideis it really necessary to trim metal from the bumper? what gets in the way if you dont? And do you have recommendations for which bike racks will fit AND clear bumper? It looks like the hitch is a close fitwhich I really like.... Thanks.

The Class I hitch made for your 2016 Honda Civic Coupe, the Curt # C92UR, will require trimming of the rear bumper and fascia panel. No metal on the bumper needs to be trimmed away.

Even though Curt recommends using their support strap # 18050 with any non-trailer load (such as a bike rack), it is not required on this hitch.

Class I hitches are limited to using 2-bike racks. On the linked page you will see all Class I 2-bike hitch racks. For a 2-bike carrier that is cost-effective, lightweight, capable of use in both 1-1/4-inch and 2-inch hitches and that provides substantial clearance from the hitch pin hole (a full foot) I like the Curt # C18085. This rack also has a 90-lb total bike weight rating, more than most.

You can use hitch lock # e98879 to secure the rack and bike cable lock # e98891 to lock your bikes.
