Higher Amperage Rated Trailer Wiring Harness Recommendation for 2013 Dodge Grand Caravan
Question:
C56150 Curt T-Connector Vehicle Wiring Harness. I purchased a tow light kit to wire into my Dodge Caravan after the one that was installed by a local dealer burned up. They were identical. Just like last year the first time I try to use it, it burned up. Is there a superior product or are you having problems with this type of light kit with Dodge Caravans? Thanks for any ideas.

Trailer wiring harnesses don't normally short out unless they are getting overdrawn or there is a short on the trailer's wiring. There is a harness available for your 2013 Dodge Grand Caravan that can handle higher amperage draws than the Curt part # C56150 that you have which can handle 3 amps per turn signal circuit and 6 amps for running lights.
For that you'd want the # 118534 which is good for 4.2 amps per stop/turn signal and 7.5 amps for the taillights.
Also check the trailer's wiring for any obvious signs of a short and fix before installing the new harness.
