Using An Extended Ball Mount While Towing

Question:

I have a 2015 Chevy Diesel HD2500 with an 8 foot bed - I am looking at upgrading motorcycles next year which would require me to have the tailgate lowered to make the new one fit. I pull a Jayco XB24 Ultra Light trailer gross weight is 4190 from the factory - new bike will weigh about 900 pounds - will the a ball extender work in my situation?

Yes, the Brophy Ball Mount part # BM20 was specifically designed for situations in which additional clearance is needed between the tow vehicle and trailer. As long as your tongue weight is under 1,000 lbs, the rise/drop of the ball mount will allow you to tow your trailer level, and you do not require more than an 11-1/4" extension, this ball mount will work for you.

I would also recommend the use of our Roadmaster Quiet Hitch part # RM-061 to stabilize the extended load.
