Dash Lights Appear While Using The Factory 4-Flat Connector On 2014+ Ford F-150
Question:
I purchased your product listed above and when it is plug in the 4 pin trailer plug it reads inside as being hooked to a trailer, counting mileage as hooked to a trailer, etc.. I have a 2017 ford f150 and would like to wire it direct into the rear tail lights. Can you please provide me with the wiring diagram showing how to hook it up to my truck 2017 ford f150 Lariat package / towing package. Let me know if you need any other information.

We have had this problem before on similar products due to the computer system used in the newer Ford trucks. Whenever an accessory is plugged in, the vehicle may think there is a trailer connected and responds accordingly. The only way around this is to hardwire the Rampage SuperBrite LED Tailgate Light Bar - Stop, Tail, Turn, Reverse part # RA960137 into the taillight harness.
This, however, can be accomplished rather easily as you will only need to use a circuit tester like part # PTW2993 and 4 wire connectors like part # SWC501746-1 to do so.
In order to hardwire the light bar to your 2017 Ford F-150, you will first want to cut the 4-pole connector from the harness. You will then want to peel back a bit of the electrical tape and wire loom from either side of the vehicles taillight. You can then use the circuit tester while having a friend sit in the vehicle and perform each of these functions.
