Can a 2013 Kia Sorento Have a 5-Way Trailer Connector Installed
Question:
I want to use a 5 pole connection for my trailer to power reverse lights. I have no brakes. Can I do this or is it too much voltage for the lights?

The 4-way trailer connector on your 2013 Kia Sorento should have a powered converter which reduces the draw on the vehicle's lights. It draws the power for the trailer's lights directly from the battery. So you won't have any problems adding a 5-way connector.
You can use an adapter like # 20036 that converts the 4-way to a 5-way. Your 4-way plugs right in and then the extra blue wire gets tapped into the reverse light circuit on your Sorento.
If you don't already have a 4-way trailer connector let me know whether you have the tow package, the 4 cylinder or V6 motor, and the trim package of your Kia and I can recommend one for you.
