Recommended Trailer Hitch for 2017 Toyota RAV4 Hybrid and 2011 Honda CRV

Question:

I have a 2017 Toyota Rav4 Limited Hybrid and wanted to make sure that Curt #C13149 is the proper hitch to buy for it. Yes, I want a Class 3, 2inch receiver. I also have a 2011 Honda CRV AWD and would like to make sure that Curt 13555 is the proper Class 3, 2inch receiver for that car. Thank you,

Starting with your 2017 Toyota RAV4, the Curt Class III Trailer Hitch Receiver # C13149 referenced in your question is indeed confirmed to fit the Hybrid model of your vehicle. This is a Class III hitch that will provide a 2 inch receiver opening and a tongue weight capacity of 525 pounds.

I have attached the written installation details as well as an installation video on the 2016 model year that you can use for reference.

Then for your 2011 Honda CRV AWD, the Curt Class III Round Tube Receiver Hitch # 13555 you also mentioned is the correct fit. This is also a Class III hitch with a 2 inch receiver opening and a 350 pound tongue weight capacity. I have again included the written details and an installation video for you to check out.

If you are looking for a bike rack that will work great with both of your vehicles, I recommend looking at the Thule Hitching Post Pro # TH934XTR. This is one of our most popular bike racks and it will allow you to transport up to 4 bikes at 35 pounds each. The tilting center mast will give you easy access to the rear cargo area on your vehicle and a built-in anti-rattle bolt will reduce vibration and noise. You can add the Thule Hitch Lock # THSTL2 and Cable Lock # TH538XT to secure everything into place and help deter theft. I have included a video review of this bike rack as well as a link that will take you to our available selection.

With any hanging-style rack like this one, you may need an adapter bar # UB01 if you plan on carrying any children's, woman's or alternative frame bikes. This will provide a horizontal attachment point for level transport and improved ground clearance. I have attached a video demonstration on this product so you can see exactly how it works and why it might be needed.
