Troubleshooting Blown Fuses on 2016 Chevy Silverado 2500 When Using Landing Gear or Slide Outs

Question:

When I connect to my 2016 Chevy Silverado 2500HD and use my landing gear or slide outs I sometimes blow my hot fuse in the truck. Want to update to a 40 amp but can't find one.

Going from a 30 amp fuse to a 40 amp fuse likely won't solve the issue and may cause even larger problems for you. Instead, you could use your 2016 Silverado's battery to power the landing gear and slide outs.

You would need to connect them to a 7-way connector such as # PK12706 and use 10 gauge wire # 10-1-1 to the positive terminal on your truck's battery. This will not drain the battery because there won't be a constant draw using just the landing gear or slide outs.
