Recommended Wiring Harness for 2005 Toyota Highlander
Question:
118248 I have a 05 Toyota Highlander and would like to install a wiring system to haul boats and cargo carriers and such. Im interested in the four ways plug if thats what its called. Ive done some research on these products out there and found a few where I will have to install a wire from the car battery to the power module. I see that this product does not require any additional wiring. Please confirm or call me to explain me this product. I will definitely buy it once I fully understand this product.

The Tekonsha T-One Vehicle Wiring Harness # 118248 referenced in your question will work great on your 2005 Toyota Highlander if it has the factory tow package installed. The T-One Connector will simply plug into the OEM ports located behind the driver side trim panel on the vehicle. You will not need to run a wire to the car battery.
If your Highlander does not have the factory tow package, you will instead want to use the Tekonsha T-One Vehicle Wiring Harness # 118413. This will plug directly to the ports that will be located behind the trim panels in the cargo area on the driver and passenger side. Like the above mentioned harness, you will not need to run a dedicated wire to the vehicle's battery.
I have attached the installation details on both of these harnesses so you can see exactly what this will entail.
If you are unsure if your vehicle has the factory tow package, I recommend simply visiting your local Toyota dealer with your VIN and they will be able to tell you exactly what was installed on the vehicle at the factory.
