Recommended Scooter Carrier for 2015 Honda Pilot

Question:

My scooter is 375 pounds. My vehicle is a Honda Pilot 2015. Do you make a rear hitch cycle carrier that will work, or is the Honda Pilot not able to have the weight suspended off the 2inch receiver hitch?

For your 2015 Honda Pilot, I recommend looking Ultra-Fab Carrier # UF48-979033. This carrier will fit into the 2 inch hitch receiver on your vehicle and provide a weight capacity of 500 pounds, more than enough for your scooter. It features a built-in ramp that measures 39 inches long for easy loading and unloading and a track width of 5 inches. Two tie-down loops are also included for quick and easy fastening.

You will want to make sure that the factory hitch and vehicle itself have the necessary tongue weight capacity to safely transport your 375 pound scooter. A Class III trailer hitch, which is what is installed on your Pilot, will typically have a tongue weight capacity of 800 pounds, but you will need to also verify the capacity of the vehicle. This information should be listed in your copy of the owner's manual and might vary depending on the amount of passengers that will be in the Pilot. Also keep in mind that the carrier itself weighs around 50 pounds, which will factor into the total tongue weight.
