For you to safely tow the RV with brakes, you will need a brake controller and the trailer wiring for your 2012 Honda Pilot. I can help you out with everything you need.
First, if you do not have a 4-way connector at the back of your Pilot I recommend part # 118558. This harness plugs into the vehicle wiring located behind the rear bumper.
You then need part # ETBC7. This plugs into the 4-way connector and you will then need to finish the wiring as shown in the attached drawing.
The brake controller I recommend is part # 90195 because it is easy to set up and operate.
When working with electrical connectors I recommend using dielectric grease like part # 11755. This keeps dirt and moisture out of the electrical connections and helps prevent corrosion.
