Trailer Wiring Harness Recommendation for 2014 Nissan Quest
Question:
I have a 2014 Nissan Quest SV that I will be installing a trailer hitch and wiring. I located the trailer hitch on your site and was looking at wiring part #C56137. I noticed in the QandA section that one of your technicians recommended part #118547 as an alternative 4 wire flat because it doesnt require the wiring to be hooked to the battery. I would like to avoid that additional step if I can, but that part is listed as Not Confirmed to Fit on your website. I wanted to verify if that wiring package does actually work for the 2014 Quest. Thanks!

Not all vehicles can handle the additional amperage draw of the trailer taillights on the vehicle taillight circuits. Those vehicles need setup that draws power from the battery. Some vehicles have higher rated circuits that can handle this, and others need to have the power drawn straight from the battery to protect the taillight circuits.
For your 2014 Nissan Quest SV you need to install a harness that draws power from the battery to protect the taillight circuits. For that you would need the part # C56342. I also attached a help article on running the power wire for you to check out as well.
I attached an install video for this harness for you to check out as well.
I cannot recommend the other harness you mentioned. It's for older Quest models.
