Will the Primus and P2 Brake Controllers Work with Standard Electric Brake Systems on a 2011 Tundra
Question:
Will the Primus or Prodigy P2 work with standard electric trailer brakes, or do they only work with Electric over hydraulic. New to towing, so I am not sure what I need. Dont want to spend the money for a special controller if the P2 or Primus will work.

The Tekonsha Prodigy P2 Brake Controller, item # 90885, will work with both standard electric trailer brakes, and electric over hydraulic braking systems. I have attached a link to instructions for you to review.
The Tekonsha PRIMUS IQ Brake Controller, item # TK90160, is not designed to work with electric over hydraulic braking systems, but will work great with standard electric trailer brakes, see instructions link.
The P-3 brake controller is also compatible with both standard electric trailer brakes, and electric over hydraulic braking systems, see instructions link.
To Install any of these in your 2011 Toyota Tundra with factory 7-Way, you will need a wiring harness, like part # 3040-P.
If your vehicle does not have the factory 7-Way you will need a Brake Controller Installation Kit, item # ETBC7, and a 4-Way connector, item # 118384. A link to wiring instructions for the brake controller installation kit is also provided below.
