Disc Brake Actuator for a Trailer with a 2-1/2 Inch Wide Tongue
Question:
Subject trailer is tandem 4400lb GWT, disk brakes on R axle. Existing old Atwood coupler/actuatorbolt on is rusty, etc and I want ot replace It bolts over a 2.5square galvanized frame tubing, but all of the new actuator/couplers I see eg: Titan T47154107K reference 3frame...Can I simply shim it to fit my frame? Dos this unit sound like the correct replacement? THanks

You can use # 099-175-20 (replacement for Titan 60 you referenced) by using spacers to take up the gap between the trailer tongue and the coupler. The spacers will need to be placed on either side of the tongue and will need to have the same dimensions to ensure the coupler is installed evenly. Spacers will have to be fabricated and obtained locally.
