Does a Long Bed Truck Need a Reese Revolution Pin Box Installed on Trailer to Make Tight Turns

Question:

I am new to 5th wheels. Just purchased a 2017 ford 250 with an 8 ft bed and factory installed 18K Reese fifth wheel hitch. Is there any reason I need a Reese revolution 90 degree pin box to pull a 30 ft fifth wheel? Thanks.

Since you have an 8 foot bed you would not need a Reese Revolution to allow you to make tight turns.

That being said if you are buying a trailer that has one on it already you would be best served to leave it on the trailer. The Reese Revolution/Sidewinders (they are the same thing) improve the way the trailer tracks behind the truck and making backing up easier regardless of bed length so it's still a great option for a long bed truck.
