Will Curt TruTrack Weight Distribution Frame Brackets Clear Propane Tanks on Travel Trailer
Question:
Will this product fit a 2014 GMC Sierra 1500 pulling a Crossroads Sunset Trail 291 RK . Tongue weight 680. Gross weight 7600lb? Specically, bracket placement with lp tanks.

First, you have to consider the tongue weight of the trailer when loaded and ready to tow. For weight distribution this is calculated by taking the tongue weight of the trailer, loaded and ready to tow, and adding to that the weight of anything loaded being the rear axle of your 2014 GMC Sierra 1500.
On a trailer weighing 7,600 pounds the tongue weight will be in the neighborhood of 760 to 1,140 pounds. The Curt TruTrack Weight Distribution System # C17500 is rated for 800 to 1,000 pounds. So if the total tongue weight ends up being in that range then this system will work for you.
Regarding the placement of the brackets on the trailer frame if you measure on your trailer frame from the center of the ball cavity on the coupler back along the frame 31 inches that is where the center of the brackets will be on the frame.
If this measurement will not work for you there are other options including the similar Reese Steadi-Flex system # RP66559. Its brackets can be placed between 27 and 32 inches back. That little bit of wiggle room could allow this system to fit. A ball would need to be added, # 19286.
And another option is to use Reese Strait-Line system # RP66084 but instead of using the included brackets you could add chain hangers # RP58305 which bolt to the side of the frame rather than attaching at the top of the frame. It would also need the ball listed above.
