Is Green Headlamp Switch Wire on 2015 Toyota Tacoma Needed to Install Primus IQ Brake Controller
Question:
I have the tow package on 2015 Tacoma Sport. I bought the prius iq 90160. My truck has 5 wires and the piece that came with the controller has 4 wires. The 5th wire from my truck specifies Geen: Headlamp switch to vehicle trail lamps. Do I connect this wire or just leave it unconnected. Thanks,

Helpful Expert Reply:
The green headlamp switch wire on your 2015 Toyota Tacoma will not be needed to install the Tekonsha Primus IQ Trailer Brake Controller # TK90160. This is the illumination circuit and it is very rarely used for aftermarket trailer brake controllers.
On the brake controller, the white wire is for ground, the black wire is for 12 volt power, the red wire is for the stop lamp switch and the blue is for output to the trailer brakes.
I have included the installation details for you to check out.
