How Can 2013 Scion xD Transport Mobility Scooter
Question:
Hi, if I have a 2013 XD SCION and my scooter ramp receiver is 2 inches, do they have a hitch that will fit, if so which you recommend please, and will there be any adjustments I have to do to my car? thanks.

For the 2013 Scion xD only a smaller light-duty 1-1/4-inch hitch is offered. This is because this vehicle's frame cannot handle more than a Class I hitch's 200-lbs tongue weight (downward force from the scooter ramp's weight).
Although hitch adapters like # HTAD exist, and these can allow installing a 2-inch accessory item into a 1-1/4-inch hitch, all such adapters cause you to lose half of your hitch capacity because the actual weight load is further away from the hitch. This greater distance means more leverage is applied to the hitch, and this additional leverage reduces the hitch's rating.
For you particular vehicle the safest way to transport a scooter is on a small utility trailer of the type often sold at outdoor/farm stores. These are often very reasonably priced. To do this you will need a ball mount like # C45521 and a hitch ball like # A-80.
