Bike Rack Recommendation for Clearing Rear Spare of Jeep Wrangler

Question:

I see it tested in the Tacoma which is my primary vehicle but I also have a Jeep Wrangler with rear mounted spare. Wil the rack fit?

The Jeep Wranglers are hard to fit bike racks to since they have the spare that sticks out pretty far from the rear of the vehicle.

The Thule T2 Pro XTR # TH83JV probably will not work since it only has 7 inches from the hitch-pin hole to the carrier.

You could use a hitch extender like the 7" # HE06 or the 8" # 80307. The problem with these is you would have to reduce your tongue weight in half. The weight of the # TH83JV of 52 pounds plus the weight of your bikes would have to be lower than the reduced tongue weight capacity value.

You will need to measure from the center of the hitch pin hole on your hitch to the furthest point on the rear spare. If that's less than 19 this rack will fit and work well.
