Can frame Mounted Trailer Hitch Work With Aftermarket Bumper On 2006 Dodge Ram 2500 Truck
Question:
I have a ranch hand legend rear bumper and am looking at getting a frame attached receiver hitch that would fit under it. I have a 2006 Dodge 2500 Mega Cab short bed. Can you suggest a good fit? Thanks!

We do have a frame mounted trailer hitch that will fit your 2006 Ram 2500, but the aftermarket bumper will need to be taken into account to see if the hitch will work.
Check out page one of the attached instructions for the Draw-Tite # 75420 trailer hitch. The top of the receiver opening to the bracket that attaches to the bottom of the truck frame is 6.3 inches. If the bottom of your bumper sits less than that, then the # 75420 hitch will work for you. You will also want to check the brackets on your truck at the locations shown in the instructions to make sure there were no modifications that would not allow the hitch to be installed.
The # 75420 hitch is a Class lll hitch and it has a 2 inch receiver opening.
