Recommended Suspension Enhancement For 2008 Ford F-250 Towing Fifth Wheel Trailer
Question:
I have already purchased the 5th wheel plug for the back of my 2008 F250 Lariat 4wd. I have BW 18K hitch, it has been suggested that I get some extra rear support on my truck. Im pulling 36 Grand Design Reflection 14000 empty weight. What do you suggest.

We have a couple of options for your 2008 F-250.
For towing your fifth wheel trailer I recommend the Timbren System # TFR250SDF. This system replaces the bump stops on your truck and requires no drilling for installation. This is designed to work with a suspension system that is in good working order, and will not increase the load-carrying capacity of your truck.
For a suspension system that uses air bags I recommend using Firestone Air helper Springs like part # F2550. These springs work with your factory suspension to give you additional support when hauling heavy loads. With the ability to adjust the amount of pressure form 5 to 100 psi, this lets you adjust the amount of support based on the load. This system helps prevent sagging and helps keep the truck from bottoming out.
