Can the B&W Companion Hitch for OEM Ram Prep Package Help Lower Trailer Nose

Question:

HELLO, I HAVE A 2016 RAM 3500 SRW CREW CAB SHORT BED DIESEL PICKUP WITH THE FACTORY FIFTH WHEEL PREP PUCK SYSTEM. MY CURRENT FIFTH WHEEL HITCH SET UP CONSISTES OF THE PULLRITE SUPERGLIDE MODEL 2900 ISR 18K AUTO SLIDER AND THE PULLRITE OEM PREP PICTURE FRAME ADAPTER. MY JAYCO FIFTH WHEEL RIDES NOTICIBLY NOSE HIGH WITH THIS SETUP AND DRAGS THE REAR LEVELING JACKS WHEN PULLING INTO GAS STATIONS AND WHEN ENCOUNTERING UNEVEN SURFACES. IT JUST DOESNT LOOK RIGHT BEING SO NOSE HIGH. WOULD THE MANUAL SLIDING BandW 20K RAM FIFTH WHEEL PREP COMPATIBLE HITCH BE SHORTER IN HEIGHT THAN THE SUPERGLIDE AND THE PICTURE FRAME? AND IF SO WOULD IT BE A WAY TO HELP LOWER THE FRONT OF THE FIFTH WHEEL. THANK YOU

Helpful Expert Reply:

Using the B&W Companion OEM 5th Wheel Trailer Hitch w/ Slider, # BWRVK3670, can lower the height of your current 5th wheel set up. Using a picture frame style adapter can increase the hitch head height by the thickness of the frame.

The B&W Companion hitch will sit directly into the Ram's prep package pucks. There is no need for an adapter for this hitch. Also, the hitch head height of the B&W hitch can be adjusted between 17 to 19 inches. This adjustment will allow you to set the hitch height to allow to achieve level towing between the trailer and the tow vehicle.

Also you may be able to adjust the height of the 5th wheel trailer's pin box to help level out truck to trailer connection.
