I am assuming you are referring to a sway control bar. A sway control bar mounts to the trailer's a-frame and then to the hitch receiver. They are designed to reduce trailer sway caused by crosswinds and sudden maneuvers.
I recommend using the Reese Friction Sway Control Kit part # 83660. As the mounting plate has dimensions of 6" Length X 3" Wide, you will need to have an a-frame capable of mounting this bracket to in order for this bar to work. You will also need the sway control bracket at the ball mount like the Reese Sway-Control Bracket part # RP26003, in order to connect the sway control bar to the ball mount.
You will also need to disconnect the bar while in reverse.
