Can Trailer Harness Wiring Be Tested Without Cutting Wires
Question:
I have a 2008 Town and Country with the above mentioned converter box and harness. I read the trouble shooting answer to a question about a non- working harness, but had an additional question. Can the box input wires be tested without cutting them, or am I missing something? My trailer lighting previously worked, but no longer does. Im hoping not to replace it if possible. Any help would be appreciated.

You can use a circuit tester like part # PTW2993 to test the input and output wires on the Tekonsha Trailer Wiring Harness # 118552.
The tester will pierce the insulation of wires you want to check. If you have access to the connectors where the converter plugs into the vehicle harness, you can back probe the connector without having to pierce the wire insulation. I have attached a link to a video that shows how the tester is used to check the wiring.
