Recommended Trailer Hitch Receiver for a 2016 Nissan Rogue to Pull a 600 lb Boat on Trailer
Question:
Can this trailer hitch for my 2016 Nissan Rogue SV be used to haul a boat that weighs 600lbs plus weight of the trailer?

The Draw-Tite Trailer Hitch Receiver # 36542 that you reference is a confirmed fit for your 2016 Nissan Rogue SV and has a Gross Towing Weight (GTW) of 3,500 lbs and a max Tongue Weight (TW) of 300 lbs. This should be sufficient to pull your boat and trailer but you will want to check your weight to make sure.
If you have not bought the trailer hitch yet then I recommend going with the Draw-Tite # 75902 which has a slightly higher rated TW of 350 lbs and uses a 2 inch receiver meaning that you can use more accessories.
The tongue weight of your trailer should be 10-15 percent of the weight of your trailer. You can find the weight of your trailer and boat combination by weighing the loaded trailer on a vehicle scale. You can then find the TW by using a Tongue Weight Scale # e99044 or the method that is described in the helpful article that I have attached for you to review.
You will need a ball mount and hitch ball as well to pull your boat trailer. I am attaching a helpful article that shows how to find the correct Rise or Drop for your application. If you decide to go with the 2 inch hitch receiver then a good option is our Ball Mount Kit # 989900.
If you do not already have a trailer connector on your Rogue then I recommend going with the T-One Vehicle Wiring Harness with 4-Pole Flat Trailer Connector # 118480. This will install behind the tail light housing on your Rogue. I have attached an installation video for you to follow.
