Does Using Long Brophy Ball Mount part # BM20 Cut Capacity of Hitch at all

Question:

I am considering purchasing the swagman traveler xcs bike rack to use with a hidden hitch extra long ball mount to carry bikes along with my pop up camper. My question is will the use of an extra long ball mount reduce my tow vehicle tow capacity like an extension would? Will it reduce my tongue weight capacity? Does it change any towing specs at all? Thanks

This is a very good question, but when you use a longer ball mount you do not cut the capacity of the hitch in half like what happens when you use a hitch extender. Reason being an extender adds quite a bit more length and leverage plus quite a bit more movement.
