Recommended Bike Racks for Use on Class C Winnebago View RV

Question:

I recently purchased a Winnebago View 24G, length 25 ft, with a rear slide. I need a bike rack that folds down or out. The Yakima Ridgeback 2 bike model looked perfect until I saw your online comments about using the product on an RV. Can you recommend another bike rack?

Helpful Expert Reply:

RV-rated bike racks are made to withstand the extra stresses found at the rear of longer vehicles like a Class C Winnie View. Such RV bike carriers do not include a folding design since this would introduce a weak point, but some like the Swagman Trailhead # S63381 do have arms that fold.

On the linked page, which displays all RV-rated bike racks we offer, you can view 2-bike carriers like the Curt # C18085. This lightweight (46-lb) rack has removable arms, offers an 90-lb total bike weight capacity and a foot of clearance between the hitch pin hole and the nearest part of the rack. This wheel-mount design is a great option for bikes with fenders or bikes with delicate frames. With it you can use hitch lock # 63232 to lock the rack to your hitch and cable lock # e98891 to lock the bikes to the rack.

You can refer to the linked article for help deciding on the best rack choice for your particular bikes.
