Wiring Adapter to Convert Vehicle 7-Way to 5-Pole Flat Connector for Boat Trailer

Usually a factory tow package on the Suburban has a 7-way type trailer socket, like # HM40975. There are 6-pole wiring products out there but these have a very different appearance. If you refer to the linked article on wiring you'll be able to see each type and confirm which you have. Often the center contact on a 7-way, which carries a reverse light signal, is not counted as it has a different appearance than the other contacts in the socket.
If you do indeed have a 7-way with a reverse light signal included you can use a coiled adapter like # 787196 or # HM47025 or any on the linked page.
