How to Insert the Trailer Hitch Pin on Curt Trailer Hitch # C11387 for a 2010 Mini Clubman
Question:
It looks like the hitch does not extend from the vehicle how is a bike rack secured to the hitch if there is no room to a pin after aligning the holes in the hitch and the rack?

In order to insert the hitch pin through the bike rack and hitch receiver on Curt Trailer Hitch # C11387 on a 2010 Mini Clubman, you would have to reach up underneath the rear bumper. There is access to the hitch pin hole and to the safety chain loops for underneath. The design of the Mini is the reason for this method of hitch pin installation.
Because this is a class I, 1-1/4 inch trailer hitch, you will be limited to a bike rack compatible with this type of hitch and limited to just 2 bikes. I recommend the Swagman Trailhead 2 Bike Carrier, # S63360. The tilting ability of this rack will allow greater access to the rear of the vehicle. I have included a link to the installation details for reference.
On Curt class I trailer hitches, Curt warranty requirements state that a stabilization strap, like # 18050, must be used for all non-trailer loads like bike racks and cargo carriers to be in compliance with their warranty.
