Will a Replacement Gooseneck Coupler Bolt On or Need to be Welded On a Livestock Trailer
Question:
I recently bought a gooseneck cattle trailer that is in need of a new coupler. My question is when I buy a new one, and start to replace the old one, will the new one bolt up or have to be welded in?

You will most likely want to install a coupler with an outer and inner tube, like the Pro Series Gooseneck Coupler, item # PS0287790300 on your trailer. The installation of this type of coupler gives you the ability to tow the gooseneck trailer with different height vehicles and will not cost any more than just welding the tube in place.
All of the replacement gooseneck couplers that we carry are designed to be welded in place by a qualified weldor. A local welding shop should have no trouble performing this task for you.
Be sure to match the coupler you purchase to the Gross Weight Capacity Rating (GWCR) of the trailer that you will be installing it on.
