Recommended Trailer Axle, Hub, Brake, And Wheel Assembly For A 40 Foot Trailer

Question:

Hi, Im in the process of building a 40ft trailer for a tiny home. Wondering what you would suggest for a complete axle, hub, brake and tire system. two 7k axles will do the job. Trailer is a deck over. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

I can provide you with my recommendations for brakes, hubs, and tire/wheel combinations for a 7,000 lb. axle, assuming a 7,000 lb. axle will provide enough support for your trailer. I recommend using the Timbren Axle-Less Trailer Suspension System - Spindle w/ Brake Flange part # TASR7KS01. The Timbren Spindles are a top of the line option featuring an independent design to allow for maximum ground clearance. If you trailer is not already equipped with reinforcement beams, you will want to consider doing so while using these axle-less spindles.

For a brake and hub assembly that is compatible with the Timbren Spindles, I suggest the Trailer Hub and Drum Assembly part # AKHD-865-7-2-EZ-K and Electric Trailer Brake Kit part # AKEBRK-7-SA. With this setup, I recommend using the Taksmaster ST235/85R16 Radial Trailer Tire w/ 16" White Spoke Wheel part # TTWA16RGWSHD as the tires are equipped with a 5 years warranty in addition to roadside assistance and an 81 MPH speed rating.
