Compatability Issues With A Fixed RBW X-16 Hitch and a 2004 Chevy Silverado Crew Cab HD
Question:
I have an RBW 16-X hitch and want to know if that hitch will be compatible with the Reese Quick Install Kit P50064-58? I am putting the hitch into a 2004 Chevy Crew HD. Also, do you have the slider hitch assy. to match the RBW 16-X head?

Expert Reply:
Yes, the RBW X-16 hitch will fit into the rails provided with the Reese Quick-Install Custom Base Rails and Installation Kit, item # RP50064-58, that is recommended for your 2004 Chevy Crew HD.
We do not carry RBW hitch parts so you will need to either, find an RBW dealer, replace the hitch with a slider model or use a Sidewinder pin box on your trailer to tow it with the short bed pickup. The Sidewinder pin box is trailer pin box specific so you would need to determine the pin box manufacturer and model number that is on your trailer. I have linked an article with information on the Sidewinder and a fit chart for you to review.
If you wanted to replace the hitch with a slider, the Reese 5th Wheel Trailer Hitch with Round Tube Slider - 16,000 lbs, item # RP30075, would be a good choice and provides 12 inches of clearance for tight turning situations.
