Weight Distribution System Recommendation for 2015 Chevy Traverse

Question:

I have a 2015 chevy traverse that I use to pull a 19ft jay feather camper with a gvw of about 4700 lbs. I would like to get a weight distribution hitch but have no clue what I need. I dont want to spend a ton and would like to be able to back up with it on. Any help would be greatly appreciated

The Fastway System part # FA94-00-0600 would be a great choice based on what you said you are looking for. It's tongue weight range is 400-600 lbs which should be just right for your trailer that weighs 4,700 lbs.

If your tongue did end up higher than 600 lbs the part # FA94-00-0800 would be a better option as it has a 600-800 lb tongue weight range.

The best way to pick out a weight distribution system is to base it off of the loaded tongue weight of the setup when it is loaded and ready to tow. This figure also includes the weight of any cargo behind the rear axle of the tow vehicle. I attached a help article on determining tongue weight for you to check out as well. You will want the loaded tongue weight of your setup to fall right in the middle of the tongue weight range of the system you use.

For a 2 inch ball you would want part # A-90 and for a 2-5/16 inch ball # 19286.
