Recommended Sliding Fifth Wheel Hitch For 2006 Dodge Ram 3500 With CMI Rails In Bed

Question:

Im purchasing a 2006 Ram 3500 MegaCab to tow my fifth wheel RV. The fifth wheel has a GVW of 15,500# and it was suggested to me to get a 20K sliding hitch. The truck has fifth wheel above bed rails already in the bed. The rails have CMI stamped on them. I was wondering what hitches would work with these rails? Please advise with any further information. The CMI bed rails you have were manufactured by Curt, so a standard fifth wheel hitch will work well with them.

For a 20,000-ln sliding fifth wheel hitch I recommend the Pro Series 5th Wheel Trailer Hitch, part # PS30121. This hitch has 10 inches of front to back travel so you can execute turns more easily.

If you need a wire harness in the bed of your truck for the fifth wheel, I recommend part # HM42137.
