Parts needed to Flat Tow a 2003 Jeep Wrangler with a Suburban or Chevy Pickup.

Question:

I want to occasionally flat tow a 2003 Jeep Wrangler behind a Suburban or a Chevrolet pickup. What do you reccomend for tow bar and what do I use to connect lights to Jeep if I want to use the Jeeps tail lights? Thanks

To flat tow your 2003 Jeep Wrangler you will need a set of base plates. the Roadmaster EZ4 Base Plate Kit, item # RM-521424-4, work for your vehicle.

A receiver hitch mounted tow bar would be the easiest to use with a Chevy Suburban or Pickup with a 2 inch receiver hitch.

With the Roadmaster base plate kit, the RoadMaster Falcon 2 Tow Bar, item # RM-520, would be a good choice. Along with the Falcon 2, you will need safety cables, item # RM-643.

For lighting that utilizes the Jeep tail lights you will need to use a diode kit. Since you will only be towing the Jeep occasionally, I recommend the Roadmaster Diode 7-Wire to 4-Wire Flexo-Coil Wiring Kit # RM-15247.

You should confirm the towability and pre-tow procedures for your vehicle with your owners manual or contact the vehicle manufacturer for towing instructions.
