All Trailer Lights Blinking When Using Turn Signal on 2011 Dodge Durango

Question:

I installed the hitch and wire harness on my 2011 Durango. When I plugged in the trailer and used the turn signal on either side all the lights would blink also the brake lights will not work. I know this is not a trailer issue because I have no problems when hooked to my other vehicle Thanks

The most likely cause for all of the trailer lights to blink when using the turn signals and the brake lights not working when the trailer is connected to your 2011 Dodge Durango, is a weak or bad ground connection.

Since you have ruled out the trailer wiring as being an issue, I recommend checking that the ground wire from the vehicle's wiring harness is secured to the vehicle at a clean bare-metal surface that is free of any paint, rust or any other debris. Even though it is a new harness, also just check to make sure there is no dirt or corrosion inside the vehicle side connector, as this can also cause a bad ground.
