SportRack Roof Rack Clamps Won't Fit 2012 GMC Canyon Because of Weather Stripping
Question:
When i installed the roof rack to my naked roof, i am confused whether or on its supposed to be tightened ontop of the weather stripping inside my door jam. It seems like its not tightening down good enough over top of the weather stripping. Only other option i can think of is to cut a little piece of the weather stripping off inside the door jam where the latch gets tightened down. Any suggestions? Btw its on a 2012 gmc canyon crew cab.

One thing you can try to get the SportRack roof rack # SR1005 to better fit your 2012 GMC Canyon is to pull down the weather stripping in the area that the clamps need to go. Several other roof rack fits for this vehicle require this. Like you said having the clamps on the weather stripping won't work and you don't want to trim away the weather stripping because water could then get into the vehicle.
