Recommended Over/Under Conversion Kit For Band Equipment Trailer That Sits Too Low
Question:
Hello, Im just reaching out as I currently own a 16 foot EZHAUL trailer. I have a full time touring band and i tow the trailer with my tour bus....the hitch on the bus is actually quite high however the trailer is low and bottoms out constantly on the hitch pulling into venues etc. Id also like something 10 to 12 feet in height for shelving for merchandise and equipment and gear with a ramp door in the back and sides door for access . The bus is 12ft 6 inches tall so thats as high as I would want to go. Any help or places to look is appreciated, im based out of North Central Massachusetts. Thanks for your time

We do not sell trailers as you described. You may be able to find a suitable trailer at a camper retailer near you.
If you have double eye leaf springs on your trailer and the axles are either 2-3/8 inch or 3-inch diameter you may want to consider over/under kits. I recommend the Dexter Trailer Springs Over-Under Conversion Kit, part # K71-384-00, which is designed for the 3,500-lb axle with the 2-3/8 inch diameter.
If you have a 3-inch diameter axle the Dexter Trailer Springs Over-Under Conversion Kit, part # K71-385-00 would work for you.
You will need to weld new spring seats on the top of the axle. For a 2-3/8 inch axle you can use part # TRSS238, and for a 3-inch axle the new spring seat is part # TRSS300.
You will always want to tow your trailer as level as possible so I also attached a helpful article that explains how to choose the right ball mount that will work for you.
