4-Way and 7-Way Recommendation for 2002 Chevy Silverado that Didn't Come with Factory Wiring
Question:
I am looking for a plug-n-play wire connector for a 2002 Chevy Silverado 1500. It never had a tow package from the factory. I only need a 4 wire for now but would like to have a 4-7 wire if possible. I am having trouble finding something that just plugs into this truck. I owned a 2003 that I did with no problem but something must be different from the 2002 to the 2003 models. Please help. Does a connector exist for this application?

Our understanding was that every 2002 Chevy Silverado came with a 7-way from the factory. Which then all you would need for both a 4-way and a 7-way would be the part # HM40975. You would want to look for a round connector under the rear of your truck for this to plug in to.
If for some reason you didn't have that or it got removed what you could do is install a 4-way with the # 119250KIT which is a universal kit and then converting it to a 7-way with the part # 37185.
