Why Is Reese Revolution Pin Box Not Compatible With B&W Companion Slider?
Question:
I just installed a turnover ball plate and a Companion Slider in my 2015 F150 S/Cab 6 1/2 ft box. Purchased a 2013 Rockwood Signature Ultra Lite that has a Reece Revolution pin box. I pulled it home 220 miles, worked great, now I read that the Revolution/Companion are not compatible. Help, please!

On your 2015 Ford F-150 6.5 foot bed, the Custom Underbed Installation Kit # BW77FR and the B&W Companion 5th Wheel Trailer Hitch w/ Slider - Dual Jaw - 20,000 lbs # BWRVK3400-5W make an excellent system. Unfortunately, like you mentioned it is not compatible with a Revolution pin box or the aftermarket Sidewinder.
The reason for the incompatibility is the Revolution pin box uses the rotating turret that changes the rotation point from the king pin back 22 inches in most cases. This change of location puts too much torque on the underbed gooseneck hitch and can damage the assembly. So at this point, you have a couple options. You can lock out the Revolution pin box and use your current system, or you can change out your hitch for one that uses a different rail system and you can even use a standard hitch versus a slider since you have a Revolution pin box.
